CACAO RÍO CARIBE

Río Caribe is a town located in the northeast of Venezuela, on the Paria peninsula, in the state of Sucre. It is the name of a cocoa area surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and the Orinoco delta. The cocoa in this area is of the Trinitarian type. This variety is an ideal cross between the delicate Criollo cacao from western Venezuela and the robust Forastero cacao from the Amazon Basin.

The seed is large and plump, its sensory profile shows a high intensity of cocoa flavor. It is a characteristic attribute of foreign cocoas; they contain walnut, panela, malt flavor, floral flavor, strong astringency and bitterness, it also contains tobacco notes, has a high fruit aroma, acid flavors, subtle earth tones and leaves a cocoa flavor that remains for a long time in the mouth.
